Some major retro first-person shooter action has made its way onto the Xbox Live Arcade with the arrival of DOOM.

The legendary shoot ‘em up costs 800 Microsoft points from Marketplace, but it could very well be worth every point and then some. The Arcade version allows gamers to “relive the classic demon-blasting fragfest in both single-player and two-to-four player co-operative and deathmatch modes over Xbox Live.”

DOOM was originally released in 1993. The title has gamers taking on the role of a Marine stationed on Mars where a military experiment goes awry. It’s up to players to blast their way to freedom.

In addition to the single and multiplayer action, the Live version of the game comes with some next-gen features, including 1080i HD support, 5.1 Surround Sound and more. Plus, the leaderboards are in effect. There’s even split screen play.
